Program Overview

Why Study Worship Arts at TFC?

The Music major with a Worship Arts concentration exists to prepare Christian musicians for career ministries in church worship arts and varied music-related vocations. Music students develop and share their God-given abilities by participation in ensembles, recitals, concerts, service projects, and ministries. Through these experiences, the Music Department brings the whole person into the learning process and provides for the dynamic integration of faith and learning together with character and intellect.

This approach, along with the study of music theory, history, worship music, pedagogy, and performance gives students the skills to become highly effective in their field. Music majors must perform an entrance audition for the Music Department.

Testimonial

I am fully convinced that I would not be the person I am today had I not been a part of such a life-changing program! The professors were extremely intentional in the way they developed us. Rather than focusing on music alone, the faculty were passionate about developing us spiritually and academically while simultaneously pushing us to cultivate our musical craft. The diverse course material prepared me to skillfully lead worship from a strong, biblical foundation and taught me the importance of planning worship services that are edifying, gospel-centered and theologically sound. While serving as a Chapel Team leader, I received hands-on experience planning campus worship gatherings alongside our Spiritual Formation Director, facilitating rehearsals, scheduling and coordinating team members and selecting musical material each week. I am so thankful for the time I spent learning from professors that truly care about their students and am grateful that I had the opportunity to call the Music Department home during my time at TFC.
