Safety & Security
Keeping our community and students safe is critical to a well functioning educational environment that excels in mutual respect, care and accountability. Our commitment to security is the reason why we’re one of the safest colleges in Georgia.
24/7 Campus Security Personnel
Security staff are present 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Security staff perform routine inspections of campus buildings, both academic and residential.
Emergency Notification System
TFC uses an emergency alert notification system that distributes time sensitive information to students, faculty, and staff. Emergency alerts are sent for dangerous weather, incidents of violence, or messages deemed credible to distribute via the system. Alerts are distributed via phone call, text message, and email.
Campus Surveillance Systems
There are security cameras located all across campus on the exterior of every building and the interior of some buildings. All vehicles that enter the campus of TFC are recorded through the taking of a still image and footage of vehicle identification.
Campus Building Security
Room locations in academic and administrative buildings are outfitted with security mechanisms to control access. Women’s Residence Halls include key coded or key card entry.
Behavior Intervention Team
Key campus departments from multi-functional areas come together on a routine basis to discuss and provide follow-up for students who are identified as having demonstrated concerning behavior or are experiencing difficult circumstances that could lead to problematic behavior. This review is based on an established protocol and within best practices from across the country as it relates to behavior intervention. The team receives reports from anyone in/outside of the college community, discusses known behavior from various contact points across the college, and determines the best set of solutions to support/protect/respond/intervene.
Prospective students and families often express concern regarding the availability of on-campus parking for their vehicles. At TFC, however, such worries can be put to rest as the campus offers ample parking spots to accommodate all students’ needs. There are designated areas on campus for students, staff, and visitors to park. Students must register their vehicle, display a parking sticker, and park in their designated lot to avoid receiving a citation. Students can also appeal a citation if necessary. For more information regarding parking regulations, view the Security FAQ.
