Heather Gingrich

Toccoa Falls, Ga. (April 15, 2024) – Toccoa Falls College is excited to congratulate Dr. Heather Davediuk Gingrich on her new book, “Shattered No More! Healing for Survivors of Abuse, Interpersonal Violence, and Complex Trauma” which was released today by the American Association of Christian Counselors Publishing.

Dr. Gingrich, a Canadian, has over 30 years of experience in the field of counseling and has held both clinical and teaching positions internationally. Eight of those years were spent teaching in the Philippines, where she and her husband, Fred, served as missionary faculty with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Dr. Gingrich continues to be involved overseas, teaching classes for seminaries in the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Guatemala. She is a Fellow of the International Association for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a member of the Trauma Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. In 2019 she was awarded a prestigious honor by the Christian Association for Psychological Studies. 

In addition to her new book which is for lay readers, Dr. Gingrich has authored “Restoring the Shattered Self” and contributed to and is co-editor of “Treating Trauma in Christian Counseling” which are aimed at mental health professionals. She has also published 13 peer reviewed journal articles on trauma and dissociation, written multiple book chapters, published numerous magazine articles, presented at professional and lay conferences, and has been interviewed for radio broadcasts and podcasts. “Shattered No More” is unique in that it is written primarily in a question-answer format specifically for survivors of physical, sexual, emotional, and spiritual abuse, or those who may wonder if they have suffered some kind of trauma. Dr. Gingrich is TFC Graduate Counseling Faculty and is the developer and coordinator of the 5-course, 15 credit, fully online Graduate Certificate in Trauma Therapy. This program is designed to further educate mental health professionals on trauma treatment as well as provide pastors and lay helpers with tools that will help them to appropriately come alongside those with trauma histories, understand the healing process, learn how to make appropriate referrals, and develop trauma-informed congregations. Keeping a Christian perspective at the forefront, this certificate offers those who have an undergraduate degree in any field the opportunity to become specialized leaders within their Church community or faith-based organization and learn from leading expert, Dr. Gingrich.
