On June 13, 2019, the Board of Trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) voted to reaffirm the accreditation of Toccoa Falls College for the next ten years. The Commission found TFC to be in compliance with all 73 SACSCOC standards and fully approved its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), “Weaving Our Stories: Increasing Intercultural Competency.”  SACSCOC is the regional accrediting body for colleges and universities in 11 Southern states, including Georgia.

Accreditation is a crucial aspect of higher education involving submission of a comprehensive Compliance Certification report, followed by review by both off-site and on-site reaffirmation committees.  Regionally accredited institutions meet rigorous criteria demonstrating quality in all respects, including institutional mission, academic programs, faculty and administration credentials, student support services, and financial and physical resources, among many other areas.  The entire TFC campus community contributed to this accomplishment.

Commenting on the reaffirmation, President Dr. Bob Myers stated, “The entire campus community is thrilled with the outcome of the SACSCOC review.  This is a wonderful stamp of approval by our regional accrediting body that the college is operating with quality, integrity and meeting all required academic, financial, and administrative standards.”

Though reaffirmation is a long and sometimes arduous process, it is a rewarding endeavor that facilitates continuous institutional improvement and provides confidence to students that their education is of the highest quality.  At Toccoa Falls College, we are grateful for God’s blessing throughout the reaffirmation process and look forward to continuing to develop godly character with intellect for the next decade and beyond.
