The air at Toccoa Falls College was filled with excitement on Thursday afternoon as the much-anticipated groundbreaking for the new Athletic and Concession building took place at the local athletic field. Plans for the building have been drawn up for some time while the college worked on securing funding for the project. With that hurdle behind, the time had come to break ground on the new facility.

On hand for the festivities were faculty, staff, students, athletes, Board of Trustee members, builders, and more.  President, Dr. Bob Myers, welcomed the crowd and thanked everyone for their part in making this event a reality. “To our donors, we are very, very grateful for all that you have given to make this building a reality, and we’re thrilled to get this thing going,” he stated.

Participating in the groundbreaking was Kevin Hall, Athletic Director; Ron Cantrell, Builder; Dr. Bob Myers, President; John Allen, Chairman, Board of Trustees; Janet Web, Vice Chair; and Jeff Norris, Secretary.

The new building will be located between the soccer and baseball fields and will provide permanent restrooms and concession amenities to visitors. Chartwells Food Service will manage the concessions for the venue.
