Homecoming 2023 Reflection
Toccoa Falls, Ga. (October 11, 2023) – This past weekend, Toccoa Falls College welcomed alumni, families, and students to celebrate Homecoming 2023. As with each year, this two day reunion brought great joy to all who were able to attend as special memories were re-lived and created new.
As check in was happening at Gate Cottage, guests enjoyed looking through yearbooks from Toccoa Falls College and the Toccoa Falls Academy. Those who wanted to further explore the history of TFC were given the opportunity to visit the Toccoa Falls Museum prior to showing their school spirit at the TFC men and women soccer games.
Guests socialized while enjoying a cookout meal at the Homecoming Tailgate Picnic in preparation for community worship together. Voices of every generation echoed in Grace Chapel Auditorium as the TFC family lifted praises to God through the singing of hymns, led by Professor Grant Wall. Friday concluded with the crowd-favorite event, Sweets and Treats. The event tent was glowing in the night as the smell of sugar filled the air, serving as yet another reminder of the Lord’s light and continued blessings at TFC.
Saturday began with the Alumni Breakfast at Gate Cottage, with special recognition of classes ending in 3 and 8. After indulging in a variety of delicious foods, the Forrest Hall Renovation Tour began. Decades of combined memories were shared in the halls of C-wing as alumni got to see the improvements first-hand and anticipate those to come. Guests were then given the opportunity to take in the beauty of campus with their families by visiting the river to cheer on the Duck Race before hiking to Little Falls.
The night was full of games, including women’s alumni soccer, inflatables, lawn games, and bingo. Alumni and students enjoyed a special volleyball scrimmage between TFC’s baseball and volleyball teams, where the homecoming court ceremony took place at halftime. Congratulations to Kyle Bennett and Natalie Johnson for being crowned as the 2023 Homecoming King and Queen!
The weekend concluded with Coffee at The Falls. This was a time to admire Toccoa Falls with lights while enjoying warm drinks with friends and begin counting the days until being reunited again. Homecoming 2023 was an unforgettable weekend that our community will forever cherish! Thank you to everyone who made this event exceptional, whether from helping or attending. An extended thanks to the Office of Alumni Relations, Maintenance Department, and TFC volunteers. Toccoa Falls College is honored to have an amazing family of alumni, students, faculty, and staff, and we continue to give God thanks for all that He is doing in and through us!
