Women's Basketball Team

Toccoa Falls, Ga. (March 19, 2024) – Toccoa Falls College would like to recognize the Women’s Basketball Team for making it to the NCCAA Division II National Tournament for the second year in a row. This year, the team won their matchup in the quarterfinal against Great Lakes Christian College and ousted rival Pensacola Christian College in the national semifinal game but came up just short in their bid for the program’s first national championship since 1992. The national championship against Simmons College of Kentucky was a back and forth battle, however, the team lost 70-79. The Screaming Eagles posted an 18-5 regular season record leading up to the tournament and was the Regional Runner-Up. The team received the at-large bid and three seed for the National Tournament. Congratulations to TFC Senior Jaliyah Howard (#4), who was recognized by the NCCAA as a Second Team All-American and received an All-Tournament Team Award. TFC is proud of our athletes for all their incredible work and for a great season representing Toccoa Falls College well on and off the court!

Coach Micah Ryals shared his thoughts on the season,

“This season was so special for so many reasons. On the court, we won a lot of games against very good competition. I love how this group came to play game in and game out. Anytime we would go down in a game this season, I had confidence that we would come back because of the tenacity and will to win that our girls had.

Off the court, I was even more proud. Growth is never linear, and this team had ups and downs like every team. Everyone can look at our record and see success but being behind the scenes, I got to see how this group cared for each other, the way they jammed to gospel music on road trips, and the times we served at the Stephens County Recreation Department. That’s even more special than on-the-court wins. Over the few weeks leading up to Nationals, this group came together even more. I saw a group who was vulnerable with one another, prayed for each other, and competed for God’s glory. We came up short in the National Championship but this was an unforgettable season and it’s just the beginning.”
