TFC Student Competes on Global Stage

Toccoa Falls, Ga. (October 1, 2025) – Toccoa Falls College proudly celebrates vocal student Tin Ting, who recently distinguished herself on the international stage through Global Zomi Lengthe (Idol), a premier singing competition for the Zomi people. Under the mentorship of Assistant Professor of Voice, Kelly Birgfeld, Tin advanced to the top 20 finalists among more than 150 contestants worldwide, showcasing both her talent and dedication to using music for God’s glory.
Reflecting on her experience, Tin shared:
“There were about 150 contestants from around the world, including Myanmar (Burma), Singapore, Norway, Australia, and the United States. Out of all the participants, I was honored to be chosen as one of the top 20 finalists, and I competed in Malaysia from July 24–29.”
“After Malaysia, I also had the chance to visit Australia, where I performed gospel songs in four churches, shared my testimony, and helped lead worship. It was a powerful reminder that music has the ability to bring people together across nations and languages.”
“I am especially thankful to my vocal teacher, Professor Kelly Birgfeld, who has continually encouraged and supported me in my musical journey. I am also grateful to my family for their financial support and faithful prayers. This trip reminded me that the gifts God gives are meant to be used for His glory, and it will always remain an unforgettable part of my life.”
Toccoa Falls College congratulates Tin on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to seeing how she continues to use her musical gifts for God’s glory.
