TFC Student Awarded Inaugural Scholarship by the Rotary Club of Toccoa

Toccoa Falls, GA (May 28, 2025) –  Toccoa Falls College is proud to announce that Sara Hijazeen, a student in the Global Ministries Department, has been selected as the first-ever Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) scholarship recipient from TFC for the 2025–26 academic year. Originally from Jordan, Sara is the first Jordanian student in 50 years to earn this prestigious scholarship and the first to represent TFC in the program—a remarkable milestone and achievement. Quoted from the GRSP social media page,

“Sara is an impressive student who is majoring in global engagement with a passion for art education. She is conversational, appreciative and honored to represent Georgia Rotary Student Program, Rotary Club of Toccoa and Toccoa Falls College for the upcoming academic year. She is a “raving fan” of Chick-fil-A, tied to royalty in Jordan and quick to talk about camels. GRSP has more 3,856 alumni from more than 113 countries. Each year, 40 or more students from all over the world make friends in Georgia while learning about different cultures, customs and lifestyles.”

Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia have promoted world peace through understanding by offering one-year ambassadorial scholarships to international students to Georgia colleges and universities.

Sara exemplifies the spirit of TFC by not only fostering meaningful connections between the college and the community but also by applying experiential learning through the knowledge and skills she has gained in the Global Ministries Department.
