TFC Remembers: November 6, 1977
The 48th anniversary of the tragic dam break is November 6th. The unfathomable devastation that occurred in the darkness of night brought the community to its knees. The 39 men, women, and children who lost their lives will forever be remembered in the hearts of Toccoa Falls College and the community.

A college campus nearly wiped out by floodwaters could have understandably meant the end for Toccoa Falls College, but God had other plans. Rising from the destruction, through prayer, determination, and unified effort, Toccoa Falls College began to rebuild. God was shining His faithfulness once again, as evidenced by the survival of the fire in 1913 and the flood of 1977.
The mission of TFC has flourished throughout the decades, and the purpose has remained the same: To cultivate a uniquely Christian learning community that integrates the pursuit of truth with godly character. As we remember those whose lives were lost, let us also rejoice in the thousands of students who live lives devoted to Jesus Christ throughout the world because of their time at TFC.
God’s faithfulness has been demonstrated throughout the college’s history and continues to do so today.
Join Toccoa Falls College in remembering those who lost their lives on November 6th, the graciousness of God, and the courageous community that thrives today.
