TFC President Dr. Robert M. Myers Announces Retirement

Toccoa Falls, Ga. (May 22, 2026) – President Dr. Robert M. Myers informed the Board of Trustees and the Toccoa Falls College community that he will retire effective June 30, 2027, concluding fifteen years of leadership at the institution.

Dr. Myers began serving as president in 2012 and has overseen a period of significant growth and development. During his presidency, total enrollment increased by 346%, and the institution became the largest private college provider of dual enrollment in the state of Georgia.

Under Dr. Myers’ leadership, the institution expanded its academic offerings through the addition of master’s degree programs and the establishment of the Gary and Karolyn Chapman School of Graduate Studies, the Fetterman School of Nursing, and the Lawson Center for Sustainable Community Development. The institution also successfully pursued university status and will officially transition from Toccoa Falls College to the University of Toccoa Falls, effective July 1, 2026.

The College completed significant campus and infrastructure improvements during Dr. Myers’ tenure, including renovations to numerous campus buildings, the addition of the Screaming Eagle Café and Odyssey Coffee Shop, completion of the $15 million renovation of Forrest Hall, upgrades to the Dining Hall, and millions of dollars in additional infrastructure improvements across campus.

The athletic program also expanded during his presidency with the addition of men’s and women’s golf, as well as new facilities added to the athletic field complex.

Financial stewardship has remained a central emphasis throughout Dr. Myers’ presidency. Since 2012, TFC has consistently operated in the black every year of Dr. Myers’ presidency. In 2025, Toccoa Falls College became debt-free.

Dr. Myers has also played an active role in higher education accreditation and leadership beyond campus. He has developed strong relationships with accrediting bodies, particularly the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), where he has served as chair of numerous institutional review and evaluation committees.

Janet Webb, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, shared the following statement: “The Board of Trustees is grateful to Dr. Myers for executing a strategy that turned Toccoa Falls College into a notable, godly, Christian institution. He exercised leadership in collaboration with his cabinet, faculty, staff, students, and the Board. The Trustees wholeheartedly thank Dr. Bob for his faithfulness and unwavering commitment to the college over these fifteen years.”

The Board of Trustees will conduct a national presidential search over the next year. The next president of the University of Toccoa Falls is expected to begin serving on July 1, 2027.
