Each year, Future Scholars is a special event held at TFC. In order to attend, high school seniors must be accepted to the college, meet qualifying standards, and submit an essay on how Scripture, truth, and wisdom influence their life. This year’s Future Scholars event was TFC’s largest yet with 83 participants. On November 11th and 12th, these high school seniors and their families explored campus through campus tours, attending classes, and hearing from staff, faculty, and current students. Thursday night the campus welcomed Algernon Tennyson to speak in a special community worship service. Algernon is the founder and president of Awaken International Ministries and seeks to impart Biblical wisdom on issues we face today. Algernon has been a campus community favorite since he first came years ago, and his presence and speaking is a blessing to the college.

On Friday of the event, the visiting students went through a series of judging locations that assessed different traits that exemplify the values of Toccoa Falls College. Staff and faculty from across campus represented the college as students moved through each location. Based on these activities, one student was chosen to receive a four year, full-ride scholarship to TFC. This student exemplifies the spirit of Toccoa Falls College, godly character, and academic excellence.

With that in mind, we are so excited to congratulate our 2021 Future Scholar, Anais Ramey! Anais is the daughter of Rev. Roc Ramey and Dr. Kirsten Ramey. Anais attends Georgia Connections Academy and plans to be a Ministry Leadership major at TFC. When asked what she is looking forward to during her time at TFC, she shared, “What excites me most is the rich community that is evident on campus. From the few times I visited the campus, I saw the importance of fellowship and the embodiment of Christ’s love all around me. I am eager to continue fostering community in the space where God is calling me.”

Welcome to the Screaming Eagle family, Anais!
