TFC Holds 2nd Annual Student Research and Scholarship Symposium
Toccoa Falls, GA. (April 25, 2025) – On April 22nd, Toccoa Falls College students participated in the 2nd annual Student Research & Scholarship Symposium. This symposium is a celebration of student research on campus, designed to showcase the work of TFC students. The hope is to encourage student scholars in their intellectual efforts as they engage in scholarship, research, and other advanced projects. This event is sponsored by the School of Arts and Sciences and eCampus, however, it is open to students from all schools and disciplines at TFC.
This year’s event showcased two different scholarships—both creative and critical—and included two People’s Choice Awards. Dr. Steven Petersheim, Associate Professor of English and Honors Program Director, and Dr. Brian Peek, Chair of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department and Professor of Chemistry and Physics, served as co-chairs. Along with the co-chairs, additional faculty served as sponsors, the planning committee, and judges for the event.
Dr. Petersheim shared, “The Student Research & Scholarship Symposium is for research projects and other types of scholarship represented on our campus, and we had a couple of creative pieces this year. Next year, we hope to expand our number of entries and disciplines represented.”
