TFC Basketball Season Comes to an End
Toccoa Falls, GA. (March 5, 2025)—This past weekend, the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams finished the season at the NCCAA DII South Region Championship. The men’s team began the tournament with a victory against Pensacola Christian College, and the women’s team defeated Bob Jones University. Unfortunately, both teams faced defeat on Saturday, ending their postseason stretch.

The women’s basketball team pushed through a difficult start to the season, turning a 0-7 start into an incredible #5 ranking in the nation for Division II Women’s Basketball (NCCAA Coaches Polls). This leap was driven by unwavering commitment, unity, and relentless effort under the leadership of JT Jones in his first season as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at TFC. He states,
“This season was bigger than basketball, it was about helping a team come together and to make long lasting memories no matter the wins or losses. It was about empowering these young women to give them confidence and to help them grow physically, mentally & spiritually. This season was about building a culture that young women would want to be a part of.”
Beyond the scoreboard, this basketball season was defined by exceptional leadership, remarkable growth, and perseverance—embodying the true spirit of TFC’s athletic program.
Micah Ryals, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, has this to say about the season,
“I’m beyond proud of this group of guys and how we finished our season. Facing more adversity than we could have imagined with unexpected players and coaches leaving, injuries, and more. But every time adversity hit, these guys responded, and it was always a next man up mentality. The biggest lesson learned from this year is that life isn’t about you. We’re all replaceable and no one person is bigger than the team and the culture. We finished the season with a 7-game win streak and a conference championship appearance. I can’t wait to see us as we continue growing in our relationship with Christ and as players. This is just the beginning and the future is bright.”
