TFC Announces New Head Golf Coach
Toccoa Falls, GA. (April 2, 2025) – Toccoa Falls College is excited to welcome Shannon Howell as the new Head Golf Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Golf teams! He brings years of experience and valuable expertise as a Golf Pro at the Currahee Club. The TFC Golf Teams were launched last fall, with support from the Knox Whiten Foundation, as well as the beautiful Currahee Club, which became TFC’s home course. Their first season showed a promising start and holds much anticipation for the 2025 season, exhibiting growth throughout both teams.
Their generosity enabled TFC’s Athletic Department to provide a total of ten teams for students to participate in, which has a lasting impact through the NCCAA’s #KingChasing program. It utilizes the four values of the Game Plan 4 LIFE – Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence – to elevate the purpose of collegiate athletics beyond winning championships. The mission of the #KingChasing program is to keep Christ at the center of the student-athlete experience.
Joshua Taylor, TFC’s Athletic Director, expressed:
“We are so excited to have Coach Howell and his family join us as our new Head Golf Coach. Coach Howell has been around the golfing world for many years and is extremely well known and respected. His faith, attention to details, and vision for this program is exactly what we were looking for in our new Head Golf Coach. We are excited for him to get started and continue to grow this new and young golf program.”
