Toccoa Falls College is proud to announce José Torres as the new Head Volleyball Coach. Coach Torres is a native from Ponce, Puerto Rico. He received his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Tampa and studied Mechanical Engineering for 4 1/2 years at the RUM – Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez Puerto Rico. José has coached and played volleyball extensively including vast experiences at the club, high school, college and international levels.  He played for The Belgium SHAPE Team, The USA ALL ARMY as an outside hitter, Club at The University of Tampa Florida, AA/Open Club level both in Argentina and Augusta, GA. 

His passion is to develop athletes to achieve their highest potential. Coach Torres dedicates most of his time helping 60 plus athletes per month. He has coached club volleyball in Belgium, in Georgia for 5 years and is entering his 4th year as a Head Coach with Lanier Volleyball Club. Coach Torres’ passion for his athletes, the sport, and the development of our young generation is the fundamental reason why he is fully engaged with the sport of volleyball and the primary reason why he is excited about joining the TFC family.

Toccoa Falls College welcomes José and his family, including his five daughters, Cristina, Camille, Isabella, Leyanna and Anaya, and three sons Sebastian, Santiago and Evan.
