After the completion of Clinical Practice, Teacher Education’s nineteen seniors celebrated with their mentor teachers at the Teacher Appreciation Dinner last week. District Superintendents and other leadership were included as well as the principals at participating schools. Our Teacher Education Department is incredibly grateful for the role these district staff play in supporting and helping to develop our seniors!

During the dinner, students had a chance to give thanks to their supporting staff, which included their mentor teachers, classmates, and TFC professors. A special gift of thanks was awarded to Dr. Donna Gardner, who came out of her retirement to work with the Teacher Education students this year. The Bobby Carter Memorial Teacher of the Year Award was also presented to senior Anna Borden for her excellent work both in and out of the classroom.

TFC’s students are currently wrapping up their last few days of classes before taking final exams next week. These Teacher Education students, along with TFC’s other graduating seniors, will receive their diplomas at our Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14th.
