Sustainable Community Development Adds Three New Concentrations
Toccoa Falls, Ga. (January 21, 2026) – Toccoa Falls College is excited to announce three new concentrations offered within the Sustainable Community Development major: Agriculture and Conservation, Discipleship, and Urban Development.
The Agriculture and Conservation concentration equips students to understand and steward God’s creation through a balanced blend of environmental science, sustainable agriculture, and biblical principles of creation care. Building on the foundation of the Sustainable Community Development major, this concentration allows students to explore environmental and soil sciences, forest ecology, and aquatic and wetland biology while taking additional coursework in biology and the natural sciences.
The Discipleship concentration prepares students to cultivate spiritual growth, develop leaders, and guide communities toward deeper maturity in Christ. Rooted in the Sustainable Community Development major, this concentration equips students to understand how discipleship shapes the health and flourishing of a community—not only spiritually, but relationally, culturally, and missiologically.
The Urban Development concentration equips students to understand the challenges and opportunities that shape life in cities while preparing them to serve as agents of transformation in diverse urban contexts. This concentration helps students explore how social systems, culture, economics, and faith intersect within urban environments—and how Christian leaders can work toward the flourishing of people and communities.
These new concentrations equip students with focused skills to address real-world community challenges. Together, they strengthen Toccoa Falls College’s ability to prepare graduates for sustainable, faith-informed impact in the future.
