Toccoa Falls, Ga. (August 9, 2024) – With students returning at the end of August, our community is preparing for another great year at TFC. With the mission of developing godly character with intellect, we understand that spiritual formation is happening to all of us, all the time, in one direction or the other. As those seeking to follow Jesus, we desire to grow intentionally in His image. This intentionality is embedded in all that TFC does, and it is a privilege to continue fostering spiritual formation in our students.

For many, college is a season when students are experiencing life and making decisions on their own for the first time. Toccoa Falls College meets students where they are, strives to reflect the love of Jesus, and promotes spiritual formation both theoretically and practically. Our campus community provides opportunities for students to grow in their relationship with Jesus through worship, prayer, and discipleship. This is done, in one way or another, on a daily basis.

For example, small groups (i.e. “Barnabas groups”) are organized for students to gather with one another in a comfortable setting to share life and faith. Often organized by gender or interests, small groups are one of the ways in which students can find belonging and encouragement as they grow closer to the Lord. Additionally, there are two times each week when classes are paused for students to gather, worship through music, pray, and delve into God’s Word at Chapel.

Students are also encouraged to engage in Christ-like service in several contexts through Service and Outreach (SAO) Projects, which are often completed through local churches, mission trips, or special activities serving campus. At TFC, each student is required to complete four SAOs throughout their 4-year degree. During this time, students are also taking classes that build their own personal faith and application. Whether a ministry or biology student, each major incorporates 30 hours, or 10 classes, of Bible and Theology to dive into the study of Scripture.

Our mission is to participate in and expand the Kingdom of God through every facet of life, and TFC is committed to investing in the spiritual growth of each student we encounter. Please join us in praying over our new and returning students, faculty, staff, leadership, and community as a new academic year begins.
