Lee And Vasquez To Perform At TFC
Toccoa Falls College will be holding a recital on Thursday, September 12th, at 7:00 in the Grace Chapel and Performing Arts Theater. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. The recital will feature two renowned musicians.
Yuman Lee is Assistant Professor of Music in voice at Shorter University. His students have won awards from numerous auditions and competitions, including NATS. Dr. Lee holds the Bachelor of Music from Kyung Hee University, Master of Music from University of Southern California, and Doctoral of Musical Arts from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Lee was a recipient of James McKinney Outstanding Performer Award from the President of SWBTS, and has performed with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He is the author of a book, It Is Enough!: Singing Oratorio Aria for Baritone: Handel and Mendelssohn (2018).
Jerico Vasquez is currently Artist-in-Residence / Professor of Piano and Coordinator of the Keyboard Program at Shorter University in Rome, GA. He has performed as a concerto soloist, as a recitalist, and as a chamber musician in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Philippines. As a pedagogue, Dr. Vasquez has been an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Georgia MTA. His students have won prizes from many competitions, including the GMTA Competitions, the Rome Symphony Concerto Competition, the Chopin International Youth Competition, and scholarships competitions sponsored by the Atlanta Steinway Society, the Rome Music Lovers Club, and the Georgia Federation of Music Clubs. The Santa Barbara News Press acclaimed him as a pianist of “intelligent ardor and exceptionally clear and bright technique.”
