One TFC Barnabas group lead by Nancy Hyman, Director of Academic Success, recently knitted 54 hats to be donated to local cancer patients. The students pray for the person who will receive the hat while knitting them, and then the group prays for those people when they meet each week. On Tuesday, May 1st, the group dedicated 54 hats during TFC’s chapel service. Hyman stated, “Praying for these patients in chapel brings the whole TFC community into our blessing. We consider it a privilege to serve God in this way. It is very rewarding.”

Barnabas groups are small groups of students and staff that get together once a week during chapel time to support and encourage each other. Hyman’s group always uses it as a ministry and last semester made scarfs for the homeless in Toccoa and donated them to Shirley Comb’s homeless efforts.
