Why Study Writing at TFC?
The English major with a Writing concentration is a learning community that exists to prepare students with the Godly character and academic skills to pursue a career in writing or related professional fields.
Students in this program will gain factual knowledge of periods, movements, authors, and works in English and American Literature, as well as fundamental principles and theories of literary interpretation. Graduates from this program are prepared to pursue a wide variety of post-graduate options. Writing is an excellent pre-professional degree, preferred by admissions officers in theological seminaries, law schools, journalism schools, etc.

This major, in a Christian context, allows students to gain a broader understanding and appreciation of literature and its contributions to life and culture.

Writing Courses
The English major with a Writing Concentration is a 126 hour program that includes 69 hours of general education courses (including 30 hours of Bible & Theology), 15 hours of open electives, and 42 hours in English-specific courses (including 15 hours dedicated to Writing-specific courses).
