What can you do with a A.S. Criminal Justice Degree?

Online criminal justice degree programs open up a world of opportunity for our graduates. These are just a few of the career opportunities that you can explore once you complete your online criminal justice degree:

Public Safety Officer

Public safety officers are employed by municipalities, school districts and law enforcement agencies in order to patrol a specific area and maintain order. At the federal level, public safety officers must have a bachelor’s degree.

Corrections Officer

A corrections officer is very similar to a public safety officer, except that corrections officers work in prisons, jails and other detention centers. Corrections officers are required to patrol specific areas within the prison system and maintain order among the inmates.

Paralegal

A paralegal works in a law firm, often alongside a specific lawyer, and provides support for the lawyer’s caseload. A paralegal needs a strong working foundation of the criminal justice system, as they are often completing the hands-on work that is required for a particular case.

Security Management Professional

Many private entities are interested in employing security management professionals, which is an ideal career opportunity for an individual with a criminal justice degree. A security management professional will create and employ a security plan for a specific organization.
