Cross-Cultural Adult Education

The Cross-Cultural Adult Education major enables students to enter creative access countries with a marketable skill in the planning and implementation of adult education programs. These programs can be in areas such as business training classes, health education, literacy programs, English as a foreign language programs, computer literacy, and physical exercise classes. This major prepares the student for immediate deployment as a cross-cultural adult educator. This major also provides a training track for students preparing to enter ethnic ministries within the United States who are seeking cross-cultural ministry training that prepares students to plan and provide viable community services such as ESL or GED completion.

Program Layout

The Cross-Cultural Adult Education major is a 127 hour program that includes 69 hours of general education courses (including 30 hours of Bible & Theology), 15 hours of open electives, and 43 hours in Cross-Cultural Adult Education-specific courses. Classes include Applied Ethnography, Religious Belief Systems, Sociolinguistics, Adult Teaching Practice, Educational Psychology, Small Group Ministries, and Cross-Cultural Storytelling.
