Music Performance

Do you want to perform?

The Music Performance major is a rigorous preparation equipping students with musical knowledge, skill, and professional character traits pertinent to music performance from a biblical worldview. Students are well prepared for future opportunities such as performing artists, studio teachers, graduate school students/assistants and, after additional training, college music professors.

One of our greatest resources is highly qualified and dedicated faculty who draw on their spiritual roots, professional experience and expertise to nurture your talent.

Every music student will be required to perform in a number of recitals, usually one per semester. For more information on these recitals please see the General Music page.

Philip Himebook

A recent graduate with a performance degree, Philip Himebook, was in Les Miserables, playing to rave reviews. “…With his powerful build and angel’s voice, Philip Himebook makes that perfectly clear every time he walks on stage. I can’t say when I’ve heard the role better sung.” Himebook was also one of the winners in the Mid-South Region of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions.

Naomi ShadyPerformance graduate, Naomi Shady, went on to complete her Masters in Vocal Performance at Lee University where she worked as a Graduate Assistant.
