The Stephens County Detention Center has numerous needs, but who would have ever thought about books being one of them.  Recently, Abigail Davis, Vice President of Student Affairs at Toccoa Falls College was speaking with Danny Yearwood, Chaplain, of the Stephen County Detention Center.  During their conversation, Yearwood mentioned a need for books for the Detention Center Library.  Yearwood said he was going to “dream big” and ask for 100 paperback Christian and classic literature books for the library.

Davis brought the request back to the campus of Toccoa Falls College to see if anyone would be interested in donating books to the library.  Imagine her surprise when over 500 new and used books were donated by the faculty, staff, and local community members! On Wednesday, March 21st, Davis delivered the books to Yearwood at the Detention Center. Yearwood was thrilled with the donation stating, “I’m very excited to see all this Christian material for the library. It has the potential to impact so many lives here.”  Chaplain Yearwood would like to thank the Toccoa Falls College community for their generous donation to the library.
