Garside Receives Vulcan Award

Toccoa Falls College is proud to announce Dr. Dale C. Garside as the 2017 recipient of the Vulcan Materials Teaching Excellence Award.  For over 30 years Dr. Garside has challenged students of modern languages using unique immersive techniques and a teaching style that combines cultural and artistic appreciation with language learning.  With graduate degrees in both French and Spanish, fluency in five languages, and decades of overseas experience in a variety of cross-cultural contexts, he brings an extraordinary degree of expertise to the craft of teaching.  He has personally written complete two-year textbooks for beginning and intermediate French and Spanish, as well as a variety of ancillary course materials that he makes available to students through convenient online links.  During the past two years Dr. Garside has also served the local community by pioneering a dual-enrollment relationship where five days a week he teaches a TFC course on the campus of Stephens County High School.
