This course studies the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Chemical topics include solutions and ions, acid – bases, simple organic compounds, structures and reactions of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. It also focuses on cells, tissues, physiological stress, and body systems such as skeletal, muscular, nervous and endocrine. The laboratories incorporate the use of models, specimens, and the collecting of physiological data. Three lecture hours and one two-hour lab are held each week. In addition to regular tuition, a laboratory fee of $35 will be charged. Prerequisites: BIO 104 or BIO 124.
